Contact Your Insurance Provider

Get in touch with your provider to learn more about your mental health coverage and perks. Knowing the specifics of your plan is essential, such as the cost of each session and your yearly deductible. Make sure to ask your insurance provider if your health insurance plan includes mental health benefits, if you have a deductible (if so, has it been met), and is your health insurance plan in-network with Headway.

Verify In-Network Status

Check with your insurance company to see whether Wellness Psychiatry is a participating provider. We do require insurance benefits are confirmed prior to the intake appointment, so that patients do not receive any surprise bills (in the event insurance will not cover their appointment or they do not have mental health benefits). The Wellness Psychiatry team works with Headway, on behalf of the patient, to confirm benefits prior the appointment. In the event we are unable to confirm benefits prior to the intake appointment we do reschedule the appointment, again to prevent any surprise bills to the patient.

Appointment Scheduling

Please include your insurance information (policy number, etc.) when you contact us to schedule an appointment. We will help you confirm your insurance benefits, prior to your appointment, with your insurance information. It is preferred that patients send us a copy of their insurance card when contacting us to schedule an appointment.

Insurance does not limit the number of appointments/visits the patient can have.

Billing and Claims

We use an insurance biller called Headway. We check patients benefits prior to the intake appointment to ensure coverage. However, patients are encouraged to communicate with their insurance provider to confirm mental health benefits as at times insurance companies provide inaccurate benefit reports to Headway.
We do all of the insurance billing through Headway, however patients do need to complete a profile with Headway, to sign consents and provide forms of payment to cover copays. If these forms are not completed through Headway we are unable to bill insurance and patients are required to pay for the appointment out of pocket. Headway collects all fees when billing insurance, Wellness Psychiatry does not collect any fees directly from the patient when billing insurance and collecting copays (unless necessary paperwork is not completed through Headway)
